Inheritance

I'm in Ghana. Can pregnant woman with sickle cell disease transfer it to her baby?

The mother cannot directly transfer sickle cell disease to her baby.  Sickle cell disease can only occur if both the parents have sickle cell trait or disease.  Sickle cell disease is inherited from both parents.  If both parents have sickle cell trait there is a 25% chance of having a child with sickle cell disease with every pregnancy.  If one parent has sickle cell trait and the other has sickle cell disease there is a 50% chance of having a baby with sickle cell disease with each pregnancy.  If both parents have sickle cell disease all their children will have sickle cell disease.
